Helpful Tips for Parents
-
Make predictions using the front cover of the book.
-
Do a picture walk of the book, but don't include the
last few pages (it might spoil the ending).
-
Make predictions as your child reads and confirm
your
predictions.
-
Sequence events every few pages.
-
Ask about main characters, who they are, what their
names are, and what they did in the story.
-
Talk about the story, what did your child like best
(or least). Have them give explanations for their reasons.
